We organize a comprehensive skills acquisition program every year to equip individuals with hands-on training in various trades. These skills are selected based on market demand and economic trends to ensure beneficiaries are well-positioned for success.
The program provides extensive training in trades such as tailoring, catering, digital marketing, makeup and Gele artistry, hairdressing, shoemaking, and more.
At the end of the program, participants are certified, increasing their employability and credibility in their chosen fields. However, our impact does not stop there. Recognizing the importance of advanced skill development, we take things a step further by selecting the best students in each department and enrolling them in an advanced master class.
This specialized training refines their expertise, making them even more competitive in their respective industries. The goal is not just to train them but to position them as industry leaders who can, in turn, train and employ others.
2. Empowerment Beyond Training
At SPF, we go beyond just providing training; we ensure that our beneficiaries have the tools to implement their skills. After the master class training, the most outstanding students from each department are given starter kits, equipment, and business support to help them launch their businesses.
This stage is crucial because many skilled individuals struggle to transition into entrepreneurship due to a lack of capital and resources. By empowering them with the tools they need, we eliminate one of the most significant barriers to economic independence. Moreover, we provide business coaching and mentorship to help these young entrepreneurs navigate challenges, develop business strategies, and scale their ventures. 3. Eagles’ Nest Business Grant Program
While our skills acquisition program provides individuals with vocational training, we understand that launching a successful business requires more than just skills, it requires funding, mentorship, and strategic planning. To bridge this gap, we introduced the Eagles’ Nest Business Grant Program, designed specifically for past beneficiaries of our skills acquisition initiative.
This program allows them to turn their business ideas into reality. Participants are required to submit detailed business proposals, outlining their vision, business strategy, and expected impact. A panel of experts carefully reviews each submission, evaluating them based on feasibility, sustainability, and innovation. The best proposals are selected, and the winners receive grants to fund their businesses.
The most recent edition of Eagles’ Nest saw three winners emerge, each receiving a grant of ₦500,000. These grants have had a transformational impact, allowing winners to purchase essential equipment, secure business locations, and invest in their ventures. The success of this initiative highlights the importance of financial empowerment and structured business development.
